MG's Writing Ideas

Not sure if this is the best place for this, but I thought I'd go ahead and drop a post and see if it's of interest to anyone. Basically, I've been wanting to get back into writing my own original fiction lately and was curious if anyone might be interested reading some of it and offering feedback? I wrote up some rough summaries of some of the ideas I've been toying with on my journal, if anyone is interested in seeing them. Just thought I'd share, before getting back to your regularly scheduled sporking!

The World of the Others Commentary

So I just found out today, by chance, that when I don't have access to my home internet, I can't access this site. Because the Supreme Court has allowed Mississippi to enact their "protection law" despite the fact that it's still being litigated in court. If you don't know what this law is, it basically means they are censoring the internet and certain sites unless you upload your ID and verify your birthdate in order to access the site. So. If my IP address states that I'm geographically located in or near Mississippi, and I'm on my phone, unless I have access to a wifi network with an IP address located elsewhere, this site is blocked. How fun is that?

Anyway, on to somewhat less infuriating subject matter. Or maybe equally infuriating.

In this chapter, we have several trigger warnings - a few being complete disregard of procedure because of "wah, we're so special, you should do whatever we want!" and a cold-blooded murder, as well as grievous bodily harm to innocent people because one of the Correct Characters is Not Happy.

The Scrolls of the Ancients: Chapter Sixty-One, Chapter Sixty-Two and Chapter Sixty-Three

MG’s Note: I’ve posted the results for my future sporkings poll over on my journal; you can see them here if you’re interested! Thanks to everyone who voted!

Warning: This post contains brief sexual content and reference to rape.

The World of the Others Commentary

Because nothing is happening in this story, the author decides to coddle her Mary Sue, as well as introduce some foreshadowing as to what's going to happen far later in the novel. Not only that, but the bad guys finally start doing bad guy things. Sort of.

The World of the Others Commentary

In which the author cockblocks her bad guys from actually doing anything interesting while simultaneously showing off her Sue's Sue-per powers. And Simon is a creep, as usual.
